Fellow Optimists,

I am very pleased to serve as the Governor of our wonderful Dakotas, Manitoba, Minnesota District during the 2009 - 2010 year.  As President Mark Shriver spoke at the 2009 International Convention, “Starting today we must make our lives important.  Starting today, we must begin, again, the work of bringing Optimism to America, to Canada and to the Caribbean.  “Promise yourself…”” 

We have the opportunity to go above and beyond in what we do as Optimists.  As we set goals for ourselves and our clubs and put them into action, we can “Promise yourself…for the Kids”.  The eagle, used by Mark Shriver on his logo, is a sign of freedom, strength and courage.  Let us take the vision of an eagle, its strength and courage and accomplish great things in working with kids.  Together, let us “Soar with the DMM” and “Bring Out the Best in Kids”.
